The Role

You’ll work with high potential and top tier creators to grow their courses. This includes world-class creators like Pomp, Sam Parr, Lenny Rachitsy, Sahil Bloom, Greg Isenberg, and more. You’ll set the strategy and drive marketing for our top instructors, launching and scaling their course businesses on Maven. You’ll build trusting relationships across teams, and you’ll be responsible for the exponential growth of our key instructors. Your eye for detail will shine through in the quality of content you put out, and your focus on analytics will determine the pace at which we replicate and scale marketing efforts.

  • Drive student acquisition and fill cohorts for top instructors like Sahil Bloom, Pomp, Shivani Berry, and Shaan Puri. You’ll develop a systematic approach to course marketing that can be scaled across all top Maven instructors.
  • Constantly improve conversion at all parts of the funnel (top, middle, and bottom) to drive students for your set of instructors.
  • Partner with instructors to build and deliver on personalized marketing campaigns. You’re ideally strong in a mix of content marketing, social, and/or email marketing.
  • Write automated email drip campaigns (both sales and educational content), social posts/tweet threads on behalf of instructors, landing page copy, case studies, etc. This role involves a lot of writing student-facing copy.
  • Produce and run online info sessions and webinars for instructors to share more about their course, including AMAs, alumni webinar, sneak peek into the course material, etc to nurture and build trust with prospective students.
  • Experiment with tactics to fuel word of mouth and spark student referral loops.
  • Loop in internal counterparts in operations and course strategy to support instructors and hit their quarterly revenue targets.
  • Establish A/B testing processes to test creative design, content, email cadence and timing to constantly improve campaign performance.
  • Set goals and proactively measure and communicate results to the greater team. Own reporting recaps and testing summaries for campaign effectiveness.
  • Project manage campaigns and projects. You’ll be working with multiple instructors with multiple marketing experiments for each, so you’ll need to be extremely organized and have a high degree of ownership.

This role will start as a “team of one”. As you systemize Maven’s approach to course marketing and demonstrate consistent results, you’ll potentially grow a team of growth marketers to help more instructors.

This role will report to the GM of Partnerships.

Note: This role is not focused on paid marketing, at least not at first. You’ll work with creators and instructors with an audience, so you’ll market to their existing audience and improve their funnel.
